First league cycle - Spring 2024 (1 Oct to 31 Dec 2024)
The Bay Tennis League's mission is to promote the game of tennis, create new friendships and improve skills and fitness through friendly competition - and is open to all men and women with UTR under 7.
Each match is a pro-set, meaning the first to 8 games. For both opponents, each game won during the set is worth 1 league point, and the winner receiving a bonus 2 points for a total of 10 points. For example, if Bob beats Tom 8.5 then Bob gets 10 points and Tom gets 5 points.
It is expected the winner will submit the score through this site.
There are 4 league cycles per year - Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. Each league season consists of 11 weeks of matches, after which the Top 8 move through into the Quarters, Semis and the Slam Final over a 2 week period.
The winner of each league cycle scores a stunning, engraved crystal trophy. You'll definitely want one of these on your shelf, your dinner guests will stare in awe. And all league winners are listed in immortality in the Hall of Fame section of this site.
All registered league players are included on The Bay Tennis League Whatsapp Group and you can arrange matches whenever and wherever you like. You may play each other player a maximum of 4 times per season. New players can enrol and join the league season at any time.
Wherever players are tied on points on the ladder, the most wins will rank higher. And wherever players are tied on points and wins, the player with the strongest winnings scores (lowest games against) will rank higher.
The REF runs the show and his expert team of tennis analysts scrutinise all results and update the league ladder as infrequently as required. Challenge The REF at your peril!
